Ian Gunn has been involved in natural resources management for over 50 years in primarily water resources. He initially qualified with a BSc Hons degree in geology at Victoria University Wellington New Zealand obtaining additional qualifications from a post graduate diploma in Groundwater Resources from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and post graduate diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Massey University NZ. Over 25 years, Rawiri Smith and Ian have developed a strong working relationship. Together they have mentored students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute for nearly 10 years focused on indigenous practices in the Wairarapa Moana-NZ.
