About

Naida Culshaw

I am a weaver, university lecturer and Doctorate of Business Administration candidate at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) in France, as well as a coach and consultant. It is here where I practice, in the classroom, in the meeting room, and in the community circle.

As a scholar practitioner my research explores how the act of re/membering Indigenous wisdom traditions informs individual perspectives and choices, entrepreneurial initiatives and organizational governance design, and/or broader actions around ecological/social justice. Re/membering is an intentional act, as one might say in French to recolter – to harvest – your inner knowing and outer being nourished by a deep connection to our Earthly community, our bodies, and our spirits.

My research journey thus far has inspired a co-authored chapter on Indigenous Entrepreneurs, a panel discussion entitled "Re/turning to being entrepreneuring" (2023 Engaged Management Scholarship Conference), the co-curation of the "Re/membering our Rooted Selves" online learning journey, the co-development of a teaching case exploring the tensions around Indigenous and market-driven "development dreams," a co-authored EURAM 2024 conference paper, as well as creative course conceptualization.

By stirring the remnants of memories, past experiences, and ancestral echos, with the infusion of a worldview (or worldsense) centering the more-than-human, shifting focus from the logic of the head to reconnect with the embodied heart and ethereal spirit, re/membering invites the possibility to de/construct ideas and identity, re/framing both the actor and their actions.
